Originally established in 1975 by the Oregon Military Department as the
state's official military history repository, the Museum honors, preserves
and showcases this remarkable history through exhibits, outreach and
educational programs, an annual Living History Day event, and through
outstanding artifact, library and archives collections. The Museum relocated
from its former site to make way for construction of the new 41st Infantry
Division Armed Forces Reserve Center, which will serve 1,300 soldiers. The
Museum's re-opening will be announced at a later date.
